I never crossed towns like that, followed by some kind of devil. we used to pick up food in bombed houses, cans most of the time. No electricity, no water during weeks, no need to say. Once, looking for an hospital to have interview with medics, we run into a fridge truck full of plastic bags, 125 corpses piled high. Mostly women, babies and kids, dead since days. Got it ? no fuel for trucks, so no AC inside and 40° outside… well, normal war. artillery shells, 500 kgs bombs, flak jackets not useful over there.what else ?
