Corrían los años ‘80 allí en mi tierra que vivía sus mejores años. Dalmacia se llenaba cada vez más de turistas extranjeros, sobre todo alemanes, italianos y franceses. La capacidad hotelera aumentaba año tras año, pero la oferta turística empezaba a escasear. Poco a poco los responsables de la promoción turística se dieron cuenta que la gente buscaba cada vez más la autenticidad. Querían pasar unas vacaciones diferentes. Querían vivir experiencias locales y conocer tradiciones locales. Y como de costumbre, cuando la Ley de Oferta&Demanda no encuentre resistencia alguna en el sentido común y la cordura, llegó un aprendizaje embarazoso. Uno de aquellos que, nada más hayan sucedido, generan un consensuado: vaya, esta nos la podíamos haber ahorrado.     Pues la cosa fue que el hambre y las ganas de comer se encontraron por allí a mediados de los años dorados del socialismo moribundo y decidieron ofrecer a los turistas la experiencia de las tradiciones locales. “Estamos jodidos”, soltó el padre sin apenas percatarse de la presencia de su pequeño hijo que una década más tarde vivirá aquella profecía pronunciada, tras la incredulidad que siguió la noticia que interrumpió aquel “Hajduk (Split) – Crvena Zvezda (Belgrado)”. Camarada Tito ha muerto Aquel 4 de mayo de 1980, la pelota dejó de rodar, aunque el árbitro ni tan siquiera tuvo que pitar para que el partido se parrara. Al escuchar la noticias los jugadores ylos aficionados de uno y otro equipo irrumpieron a llorar. El silencio sonó como el trueno en las mentes y corazones de millones de personas de aquella curiosa y utópica creación llamada Yugoslavia. Pero aquella pelota que dejó de rodar en el estadio de Poljud (Split) no tardó mucho en moverse y perdimos el empate.  Nada más haber enterado al Mariscal, sus generales y sucesores frustrados empezaron a mover la pelota que se quedó parada en el minuto 15 de aquella tarde de primavera en el estadio de Poljud.
